HOW TO APPLY FOR FUNDING If your organization would like to apply for funds, the following IRS criteria must be met before your agency can be considered: 1) You will need to show proof that you are a tax-exempted 501(c)3 organization. (If you are part of a national organization, you are required to show proof on proper letterhead and please include a copy of the IRS letter stating your current status.) 2) Please submit your budget from the most recent tax year, listing all local and national sources of income. 3) Please provide the number of Liberty City children and/or adults currently enrolled in, or served by, your organization. 4) List any other types of local fundraising that you participate in whereby you receive funds. This information will need to be submitted to the address located under the "Contact" link. A new date for submission is set each year. All four items will need to be submitted or your organization will be disqualified. Be encouraged, you may re-apply for funding next year if you don't currently meet the above criteria. Once our budget hearing date is confirmed, and if your organization is chosen to be a candidate to receive funds, you will be contacted by letter, which will state the specific date, and time you should appear before our Board of Directors. You will be given approximately 15 minutes to speak and to provide any additional information to support your financial need. |
